Giving
The Center to Bridge the Digital Divide gratefully accepts contributions from those who share our goal of helping disenfranchised people participate fully in the global information society.
You can easily make a donation online through the Washington State University Foundation.
While direct donations are always appreciated, there are many other ways to provide financial help. We would be pleased to work with you on establishing a matching gift program through your employer. We also happily accept donations of equipment to support our projects.
We Need Your Financial Support
While organized as an entity with WSU, The Center to Bridge the Digital Divide (CBDD) is required to be financially independent depending nearly exclusively on grants, consulting services and gifts.
Through the generous support of Private Foundations and Government Agencies, the CBDD has attracted an average of 3 million dollars annually to conduct specific that support the creative application of modern information technologies to address needs in rural areas and developing nations and prepare our youth to be successful in the digital age. Approximately three-quarters of these project dollars are returned directly to partners in underserved US communities and developing nations through sub-grants managed by CBDD.
Continued project funding is of course essential. However, our greatest need is financial support to pursue new partnerships expanding the capacity of CBDD to:
- replicate existing successes in other US communities and developing nations
- develop new creative initiatives, and
- facilitate consensus around creative public policy approaches Bridging the Digital Divide
Financial support to conduct stakeholder work and build partnerships necessary to expand existing successes, create new initiatives and facilitate policy development does not generally fall within eligible uses available from most private foundations and government agencies. For these funds we must have the help and support from private individuals and corporations.
